On this episode of the podcast, Melanie Wehrmacher conducts and co-produces a fantastic interview with me thru Zoom. This is Melanie's second time on the podcast.
There is quite a bit of two way conversation between Melanie and me. During the first 45 minutes or so of the interview, Melanie asked me questions along the lines of:
1. What are your traditions or rituals for New Year's Day? In other words, how did you spend New Year's Eve and New Year's Day?
2. Are you a Resolution person or a Goal person? What are your goals for 2024?
After I gave my response to Melanie's questions, I asked her the same question for the first two questions.
3. If you could change any three things in the world, what would they be?
4. Are there any podcasts you've come across in the last year that you really enjoyed and that you would recommend?
5. Have you had any chances to play around with your impressive karaoke setup recently? (Note: I actually got rid of my karaoke and portable sound system setup about a year ago and donated it to our local Jewish Federation of Greater Des Moines)
6. Were you part of that local Jewish day camp when you were a kid that you just mentioned? (And after I tell Melanie about the several years I went to that Jewish day camp during the 1980's, I then tell her a little bit about the years I was a camper and staff member at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin).
7. Do you remember the Hodag in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, what is it?
8. Do you speak any other languages, which ones and how fluent are you on them?
9. What is your cooking style?
For the remaining 25 minutes of the podcast recording session, I talk with Melanie about the movies I have on DVD, about how I have become significantly more of a Cinephile over the last year, and about how I've especially become super passionate over the last year about movies that were designed to be Roadshow Theatrical Presentations. I list the criteria for what it would take for a movie to be considered a Roadshow Presentation and the movies I have on DVD which are considered Roadshows. We end this discussion with my asking Melanie how many of those 30 Roadshow films she is familiar with and what she likes or admires about any of them.
It is with this episode of the podcast where we debut the scripted opening and closing which includes professionally produced theme music composed and performed by Oleg Kyrylkovv. 2. Then Carrie asks me to talk about how I've become more of a film buff and movie aficionado over the last year. I tell her what my top 5 favorite films are overall and then I talk with her about my passion for the films which were designed to run and be shown in the "Roadshow Theatrical Engagement" format and how my collection for such films has grown significantly over the last six months or so. After I finish talking about Roadshow type films, then I ask Carrie to talk about her favorite movies.

On this episode of the podcast, Laura Grisamore does another fantastic interview and outstanding with me thru Zoom. This is Laura's fifth time on the podcast.
We start out the show with my discussing how things with the podcast are going, and then Laura asks me to talk about how I have become more passionate about The Blues Brothers over the last eight months. I share quite a lot of trivia and factoids about The Blues Brothers history, the impact Elwood and Jake have had in society with promotion of Blues music and Rhythm and Blues music and of course the movie itself, including how the 1980 The Blues Brothers film was intended to be a 2 hour 40 minute to as much as 3 hour roadshow style movie with an intermission, and about a the extended version of the film that is 15 minutes longer than the standard familiar theatrical cut.
Then I talk about my interest and passion for the movies that were designed as Roadshows and what is special about such films. Laura does offer her thoughts on both of the things that I've talked about during most of the show.
I perform my impersonation of the late Jim Morrison doing his take on the Toys R Us jingle like a number from The Doors. And then we wrap up the podcast with Laura talking about a major photography documentary project she's working on.
If you are a fan of/are into The Blues Brothers and/or films which were designed to run as Roadshow Engagements, this is The Juice with Jeff episode for you!!!

On this episode of the podcast, Micole Van Walbeek conducts and co-produces a fantastic and superb interview with me in person. This is Micole's fifth time on the podcast, and her third time doing it in person.
Micole asked me several questions on fun topics, including summarizing how things in the audio/TV production areas in the J-School area at Drake are different now versus what things were like when I was a student (back in the mid to late 1990's) and then what landmarks I would like to feature and interview people about if I were asked to be the host of a Real Estate and Lifestyle TV program.
After answering Micole's first two questions to me, I asked Micole to talk about her being one of the 10 or so Des Moines/ Central Iowa Realtors selected to be a Host on an every two months basis for the Des Moines episodes of the really popular TV and internet program The American Dream that focuses on real estate and lifestyle matters relevant to each local community and how she enjoys interviewing people for these shows on an every other month basis.
Then Micole asks me to talk a little bit more about these podcasts, and then about what I love about The Blues Brothers along with some fun facts or trivia about them.

On this episode of the podcast, Sandy Henry conducts and co-produces a fantastic and superb interview with me in person. This is Sandy's third time on the podcast, and her second time doing it in person. For this particular episode, Sandy and I have equal turns co-hosting the interview, and it involves a mix of both indoors and outdoors with a tour of various things on the Drake University campus.
This is a really special episode of the podcast as the overwhelming majority of the program (a full hour's worth) involves a tour of the many changes that have taken place in Meredith Hall at Drake, especially with the E-Media audio and TV production facilities in "The Basement", and then we look at some outdoor points of interest on the Drake campus afterwards. Then for the remaining 20 minutes of the podcast, Sandy asks me to talk about my love for movies and about my significantly growing TV Show and Movie DVD Collection. There is a cameo appearance by Micole Van Walbeek at literally the very end of this episode.
This episode was recorded on Friday October 20, 2023 and it runs 1 hour and 20 minutes long. As is the case with all of "The Juice with Jeff" podcasts, funding for this podcast is provided by Realty With Ahart and RandomKid. Enjoy!!
