On this episode of the podcast, Lori VanLo conducts and co-produces a fantastic, superb, and extremely fun interview with me in person. This is Lori's second time on the podcast and we recorded this one at Walker Johnson Park in the Urbandale area.
This episode is really unique as almost all of the questions Lori asked me and topics we talked about are things that have never ever been brought up on the podcast before. Here are the questions that Lori asked me, some were really fun or silly, other questions were more serious:
Does a straw have one or two holes?
If an animal could talk, which one would be the rudest?
Is cereal a soup?
Is a hot dog a sandwich?
Would you prefer to travel into the past or into the future?
Who would win in a fight, a horse-sized duck or a duck-sized horse?
Should cats or dogs rule the world?
Would you rather have a pet dragon or a pet unicorn?
Should adults be required to take an afternoon a nap time?
Should we have a 4 day workweek universally?
Should we have a mandatory retirement age?
Should we have a UBI/Universal Basic Income?
Should we have free education?
For some of the questions, I asked Lori what her answers would be and she shared her thoughts on a few of the topics we brought up. After all the topics Lori brought up and asked me questions on, I performed a bunch of my voice impersonations for her and we wrapped the show up with my sharing some thoughts about both our reaching the 200th total episode of the whole podcast series over a 6-1/2 year period and how the show has come a long long way over the last few years.

On this episode of the podcast, Julie Bixby conducts and co-produces a fantastic and superb interview with me thru Zoom. This is Julie's very first time on the podcast.
During the podcast, Julie and I have a two way conversation where we discuss the following topics:
We start out with telling Julie more about how the show is now also on the Apple Podcasts platform in addition to the main podcast website at Podbean, Spotify, Podchaser, and Amazon Music/Audible.
Then Julie asks me to describe myself with just three single word adjectives.
Next Julie and I have a discussion on a whole bunch of things related to the podcast.
Julie then asked what question I would love for someone to ask me that has never been asked on the show before and I answer by first talking about how I have had an interest in shortwave radio and a little about the National Institute of Standards and Technology Time and WWV/WWVH radio (available on several different shortwave band frequencies), and then I describe my ideal dream job of starting up/being on a radio station the way it was done during the 1970's.
Before I launch into my impersonation medley with Julie, she asks me what what your favorite age is that you've had over my first 49 years and if I could go back to one age earlier in life what would it be and why?
We wrap up the show with me performing a whole bunch of my voice impersonations for Julie.

On this episode of the podcast, Karen Christiansen conducts and co-produces a fantastic and superb interview with me in person. This is Karen's third time on the show and her best interview with me yet.
During our podcast together, Karen asked me questions on and we had a conversation filled with a bunch of topics:

b. Sophie makes a brief guest appearance by asking Karen and me what our thoughts are on reports that Bauder's Ice Cream (on Ingersoll Avenue in Des Moines) is planning to close down permanently? We share memories on what our favorite ice cream flavors were during the times we went to Bauder's and/or ate their special treats at the Iowa State Fair in the past.
c. Our thoughts on SARS-CoV-2/Covid continuing to rage on at widespread levels.
d. Karen asks me to talk about my really impressive TV Show and Movie DVD Collection and how I'm in the midst of watching all my DVD's from A to Z.
I talk about how I am a huge fan of the films that are heavily into puns and parodies such as Airplane 1 and Mel Brooks' Spaceballs; and I also share how passionate I am about the films which were originally presented as Roadshow Theatrical Presentations.
e. Then Karen and I talk quite a lot about music. After our intense discussion on music, I share with Karen how my ideal dream job would be to operate and be an on-air personality on a radio station that operates like the 1960's/1970's/1980's era.
f. We wrap up the show with Karen asking me what my "Dream Concert" would be and who I would love to see in concert more than anyone else.
For about several minutes during the podcast, Karen and Sophie delve into some clean gossip about how Sophie's son Lester is enjoying school and about Jr. High/Middle School.

Since you're about to turn 50, what is the most important thing you have learned in your first 50 years? What are you most looking forward to this year and during your next 50 years?

On this episode of the podcast, Dana Mintzer Leman and her son Zander conduct and co-produce a fantastic, superb, and outstanding interview with me in person. This is Dana's third time and Zander's second time on the show (his first being in person). This is a not just a special Potpourri episode but it's also a "Questions You (We Hope) Have Never Been Asked Before" interview. The questions Dana and Zander ask me are:
Tell us about your pajamas and any plush toys in your bed?
Star Wars or Star Trek?
What do you typically eat for breakfast?
What is your favorite TV show/streaming series?
The best advice anyone has ever given you?(we bring up several things related to these podcasts as I answer this question)
What are your favorite sayings or quotes?
If there's a book you would want people to read, what book(s) would you recommend?(I talk again during this segment about my passion for the Filmation cartoons, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and Fred Rogers o.b.m., and the movies that were designed to be Roadshow Theatrical Presentations).
What are your pet peeves?
You can go anywhere on vacation for one week, where is it you would go for that week?
If you could go to one concert whether that group or artist is still around or who is no longer around, what group would you go see and hear perform?
What would your Dream Job be if you weren't doing what you are doing nowadays?
If you eat one thing for dinner for the rest of your life, what would that one thing be?
What Mitzvot do you strive to uphold in your daily life (as a practicing observant Jew)?
Talk a little bit about your sister Marni?
Do you like your shoes and what kind of shoes are they?
If you started another podcast, what would it be about?
What's your favorite season?
Do you prefer Brisket more or Sushi more?
Champagne Cake or Banana Cake?
After all these questions, Dana has some thoughts to share on the podcast, Zander, and me. And then before we wrap up the interview, I perform for Dana and Zander my voice impersonation of the late Jim Morrison making the nursery rhyme "Hush Little Baby" sound like a song written by The Doors. Of the three interviews that Dana has conducted with me over these last few years, I firmly believe this one is "Her Best Interview Ever!"
